This study attempted to analyze improvement in skin conditions after applying Peucedanum japonicum Thunb extract-contained cream to a face and figure out the effects of the natural plant as a cosmetic material after its administration and dermal application. Before an experiment, a homogeneity test was performed on subjects’ dietary habit and skin conditions. The experiment was carried out after dividing the subjects into control group, administration group, dermal application group and ‘administration + dermal application group.’ In an administration group, statistically significant differencewas found in changes in sebum contents (cheeks), changes in moisture contents (forehead), pH changes (forehead, cheeks), changes in wrinkles under the eyes (front) and changes in skin brightness(front). In a dermal application group, statistically significant difference was observed in changes in sebum contents (cheeks), changes in moisture contents (forehead), pH changes (forehead, cheeks), changes in wrinkles under the eyes (left, right) and changes in skin brightness (front). In the ‘administration + dermal application’group, statistically significant difference was detected in changes in sebum contents (forehead, cheeks), changes in moisture contents (forehead, cheeks), pH changes (forehead, cheeks), melanin changes (forehead), erythema changes (forehead), pore changes (right), changes in flushing area (left, right), changes in wrinkles under the eyes (front) and changes in skin brightness(front) after the administration and dermal application of the natural herb and its extract-contained cream respectively. The said results revealed considerable improvement in sebum and moisture contents), pH, wrinkles under the eyes and skin brightness after the administration and dermal application of Peucedanum japonicum Thunb. Also shows that Peucedanum japonicum Thunb extract is mostly samely effective to face forehead and cheeks. And so on, apply to face is more effectively than eat as food in generally. Therefore, it was confirmed that Peucedanum japonicum Thunb extract is a very useful natural substance for the manufacture of multifunctional cosmetics with skin-soothing and moisturizing effects. In addition, it would be useful for diverse purposes through administration and dermal application for improvement of skin conditions.
