This study is aimed to identify the moderating effects of chilbaekgo, which is traditional drug prescription recorded in Ayarkwonbang of antient Chinese Medical books. It is composed of various traditional medical herbs as Baeji, Baekryem, Baekchul, Baekbongryeong, Baekgub, Baekbuja and Baeksesingo. The effect of them was measured by applying experiment method of hot water exraction and ethanol Results, In cytotoxicity reaction, CBG-E and CBG-W appeared to have nontoxic under 50 μg/ml and 100 μg/ml, respectively. In Free radical scavenging activity, CBG-E and CBG-W showed significant result of scavenging action under 50 μg/ml. CBG-W and CBGE have a scavenging action in higher concentration state and lower concentration state, respectively. In biosynthesis of collagen, CBG-E and CBG-W represented a meaning effect. In the evaluation of Melanin synthesis inhibitory in cell, it appeared to have no effect on inhibiting Melanin synthesis compared with arbutin. In NO formation which Represents an anti-inflammatory, CBG-E and CBG-W represented a meaning effect. Conclusion, CBG-W and CBG-E extracted from chilbaekgo appeared to have nontoxic. Also, they are highly regarded as effect of antioxidant activity, biosynthesis of collagen and anti-inflammatory but whitening effect. According to this analysis of the experiment, they will be able to suggest as effective Beauty materials. In further study, We think that it would be desirable for a further study to be carried out about componential analysis of CBG-W and CBG-E, and they are demanded on studying for molecular biological access and clinical test perform.
