This study was conducted to examine the effects of manufactured treatment with the Clerodendron trichotomum extract and general treatment with the Clerodendron trichotomum extract on virgin hair damage mitigation during pre-processing of permanent waves. The control group, C’s tensile strength was 95.16 ± 4.06 gf/mm2, and NP1’s tensile strength was 128.56 ± 11.62 gf/mm2, which was the highest value. B1 and NI had the lowest values and their tensile strength was 124.31 ± 8.75 gf/mm2 and 115.23 ± 6.28 gf/mm2 respectively. The difference between BP1 and N1 was 13.33 gf/mm2. The control group, C’s hair thickness was .0263 ± .0011 mm, and BP1’s hair thickness was .0293 ± .0014 mm that was the biggest value. NP1’s hair thickness was .0244 ± .0013 mm that was the lowest value, and the difference between BP1 and NP1 was 0.049 mm. The control group, C had very damaged cuticles. Compared to C, in BP1, the space between cuticles was wide due to eliminated cuticles and cuticles were severely damaged due to wear of many cuticles. Also, BP1’s fine structure was measured at 474.30 ± 3.849 nm. NP1’s fine structure was measured at 455.45 ± 5.859 nm, and the control group, C was measured at 389.72 ± 5.783 nm, which was the lowest value. The difference between BP1 and C was 84.58 nm. When components of sulfur were analyzed using EDS, BP1’s sulfur content was 12.05, which was the highest value, and C’s sulfur content was 9.44 that was the lowest value. Therefore, the difference in sulfur content was 2.61.
