This paper attempts to explore Han Young-un’s medium of publication by period, and examine noticeable human interactions he shared in each medium. Studies on medium of publication and the revolving human interaction will be able to provide advanced understanding of the life and the literary career Han Young-un had. Accordingly, the following two points have been analyzed in this study: first, the main publishers and publishing papers Han Young-un used to publish his writings from the 1910s, when Han officially started to publish his writings, until his death in June 1944, in order to examine the Han’s standard of choosing medium of publication and the characteristics of his publications per medium; second, the human interaction Han had in regards to his main medium of publication, to explore social activities and relationships Han Young-un had. Through this analysis, the following details have been newly discussed: Han had been actively interacting with prominent cultural figures since the 1910s; he was famous for his serialized novels published on newspapers in the 1930s; Han had wide range of human interaction including not only Buddhist and nationalist figures but also socialist figures; and few of his closest companions were pro-Japanese during the Japanese colonial period.
