The aim of this study was to guide follow-up research from previous research on child eyewitness testimonies. We looked at research related to the form of a question in a forensic context and examined why it was difficult to conduct a memory study that was both sufficiently meaningful and induced appropriate emotional values ​​that produced reliable results. We also looked at the challenges of laboratory and field studies and examined the negative effects of contaminative information or suggestibility on children’s memory. In addition, we examined individual differences in children’s memory ability and whether memory performance differs according to the characteristics of events and whether supplementary tools or actions such as drawing help to improve the accuracy of children’s statements. Finally, we identified topics for follow-up research that were not addressed in previous studies, but are important for understanding of the underlying mechanisms on child eyewitness testimonies.
