This study was conducted with the purpose to clarify the necessity and importance of color terms education as a cultural teaching content and seek a new direction of Korean culture teaching. In order to achieve such, the current status of Korean color terms teaching and the use of color terms in cultural teaching materials were analyzed. 33 books of 4 types were selected for the analysis, focusing on the language use environment and the recently-completed integrated textbooks. Through this, the current status of Korean color terms education and the use of color terms in cultural teaching contents were examined. Based on this, useful aspects of each textbook were converged as a compromise method and used to suggest the color terms education method and utilization plan.
