This study analyzes the influence of sense of community on community satisfaction. These days, solving public problems through social relations and communities in the region gets much attention as fragmentation and disconnection among people continue. Recognizing the role and importance of the community, the government also implements various policies to increase community integration and regional satisfaction, and to increase regional vitality. This study conducted multiple regression analysis using data from the “2020 Seoul Survey Community Survey”. As urbanization accelerated since the 1960s, Seoul, the subject of analysis, resulted in rapid deterioration of urban communities. Thus restoring low sense of community was on the table for public debate. Reflecting this, the Seoul Metropolitan Government has enacted a village development support ordinance since 2012 to improve the quality of life and restore the community of citizens, and has been implementing various village community projects to the present. The results found that the overall sense of community had a significant effect on community satisfaction, but the integration and fulfillment of needs of residents did not have a significant effect on community satisfaction. These findings imply that in order to improve resident’s community satisfaction, individuals need to share their problems with each other to agenda them as shared community problems, and to develop into a level of sense of community that cooperates to solve shared community problems. This implies that various policies should be considered for residents to actively interact with individual and regional issues.
