This paper aimed to analyze the characteristics of 「Omowanukatani Tomarisuru Shosho」, which is included in 『Tsutsumichunagonon Monogatari』, as a short monogatari. Little is known about the origins of 『Tsutsumichunagon Monogatari』.However, one of the 10 short stories, 「Osaka Koenugonchunagon」, was exhibited at Rokujo Monogatari Utaawase, and its author is Known as Koshikibu. From this fact, it can be assumed that there were professional writers who were proficient in monogatari, and a place for monogatari creation was prepared for them. This paper confirms the creative techniques shown by writers such as Koshikibu through 「Omowanukatatani Tomarisuru Shosho」.The short monogatari of 『Tsutsumichunagonon Monogatari』show a method of skillfully quoting and recreating the techniques or scenes of preceding monogatari such as 『Genji Monogatari』in common. 「Omowanukatani Tomarisuru Shosho」quotes Minamoto no Kageakira"s waka and monogatari of 『Yorunonezame』in the title, introduction and content of the monogatari. This paper analyzed in detail that this work draws a new charm as a short monogatari by technically quoting and parodying the preceding waka and monogatari. Through the technique and satire shown by quoting and deconstructing the preceding monogatari in 「Omowanu Katanitomarisuru Shosho」, we can gauge the circumstances of the creation of the short monogatari collection called 『Tsutsumichunagon Monogatari』and the atmosphere of the era when monogatari flourished.
