Donkey is a play written by Yoo Chi-Jin published in a magazine in January 1935. However, Geugyesuryeonguhoe(The Institute of Dramatic Arts) did not perform the performance of Donkey. Yoo Chi-Jin also did not plan to perform Donkey as a scheduled performance, and chose to perform Jesa in November 1935. And in 1936, Yoo Chi-Jin performed The Power of Darkness, which completely excluded Donkey from the list. This study raises the question of the reason why Donkey was ignored by Yoo Chi-Jin and Geugyesuryeonguhoe. And this study paid attention to the similarity between The Power of Darknes and Donkey, which were published after the new policy in 1936. The similarity between the two plays is ultimately linked to the occasion for Yoo Chi-Jin to create Jamae(sisters), and the main cause can be found in the attempt to portray the fall of Choseon(Korea). In a situation where the practical effectiveness of rural dramas is limited, Yoo Chi-Jin focused on the agitation of the class system and the rise of the lower classes to show the collapse of the old order and the fall of the ruling class. The characters in the play who started as servants and tried to take possession of the property and women of their superiors were the main agents who led the birth of this class order. Yoo Chi-Jin showed the growth process of characters called servants, slaves appearing in his own plays. This character‘s growth process was one of the main reasons for his writing, going from Donke’ to The Power of Darkness.
