“Communication from Korea” was published anonymously, from 1973 to March 1988, under the name of T · K. It was not revealed who the T.K was until the serialization was finished. In 2003, Ji Myung-gwan announced at a press conference that he was a T.K. This is a meaningful scene in which the author"s name, who had to remain anonymous from the harsh times and the government"s gaze, returns. However, the fact that this repressed name is returning is also the fact that the voices of many Korean people and intellectuals hidden in the name are retrieved under the name of the name of the Ji Myung-gwan. ‘Correspondence’ should be remembered not only as a product of the transnational information exchange of the Korea-Japan solidarity, but also as an important achievement that showed the political imagination emanating from that solidarity.
Many passions are mixed in the passions that ‘Communications from Korea’ (Changbi, 2008) intends to reveal while organizing and restating the contents of ‘Communications’, and they are contained in the utterances of the free indirect speech method. By arranging the disparate words uttered in the ‘Correspondence’ in the utterances of the contemporary newspapers ‘The Dong-A Ilbo’ and ‘The Asahi Shimbun’, it attempts to project and carry out the specific desires of the top officials. Through this, readers can identify and understand the author"s specific ideology and passion, which is trying to reminisce an era and organize its meaning. It also has the function of limiting and binding the unique meaning of the names of T.K and the meaning of the times that ‘Communication’ was trying to convey.
By revealing through a press conference that he was a T.K, the author"s name was recovered from the harsh times and the government"s gaze. It is the moment when the proper name of T.K is replaced with the name of an individual. However, it is clear that ‘proper names do not refer to individuals.’ Therefore, the name ‘T · K’ should be remembered for a long time to come, not as a place name Ji Myung-gwan but as a T · K.

본고에서는「한국으로부터의 통신」(韓国からの通信)은 1973년부터 1988년 3월호까지 T ․ K생이라는 익명으로 발표되었다. 연재가 다 끝날 때까지 T.K생이 누구인지는 밝혀지지 않았다. 2003년 지명관은 스스로가 T·K생임을 기자회견을 통해 밝혔다. 이는 엄혹했던 시대와 정권의 시선으로부터 익명으로 남을 수밖에 없었던 저자의 이름이 귀환하는 의미 깊은 장면이라고 할 수 있다. 그러나 이 억압된 이름이 귀환하는 장면이란 사실은 그 이름 속에 숨어 있는 수많은 한국의 민중들과 지식인들의 목소리를 지명관 자신의 이름으로 회수해 버리는 것이기도 하다. 『통신』은 한일연대라는 트랜스내셔널한 정보교환의 산물일 뿐 아니라, 그 연대로부터 발신하는 정치적 상상력을 보여준 중요한 성과로 기억되어야 한다
「한국으로부터의 통신」(창비, 2008)이 『통신』의 내용을 정리하고 재진술하면서 드러내고자 하는 정념들 속에는 많은 정념들이 뒤섞여 있고 그것을 자유간접화법의 발화 속에 담고 있다. 『통신』 속에서 발화되었던 이질적인 말들을 『동아일보』와 『아사히신문』이라는 당대 신문의 발화 속에 배치함으로써 지명관 자신의 특정한 욕망을 투사하고 관철하려 한다. 이를 통해 독자들은 한 시대를 회고하고 그 의미를 정리하려 하는 저자의 특정한 이데올로기와 정념들을 확인하고 이해할 수 있다. 그것은 또한 T,K생이라는 이름이 지니고 있던 고유한 의미와 『통신』이 담아내려 했던 시대적 의미를 제한하고 속박하는 기능을 하고 있기도 하다.
지명관은 스스로가 T·K생임을 기자회견을 통해 밝힘으로써 엄혹했던 시대와 정권의 시선으로부터 익명으로 남을 수밖에 없었던 저자의 이름을 회수했다. 그것은 T.K생이라는 고유명을 개인의 이름으로 대체하는 순간이다. 그러나 분명한 것은 ‘고유명은 개인을 지칭하지 않는다.’는 것이다. 그러므로 ‘T·K생’이라는 이름은 앞으로도 오래도록 지명관이 아니라 T·K생으로 기억되어야 할 것이다.
