The purpose of this study is to understand the social interests of the soldier and to study the directions of improving mental power based on the social interests. First of all, we use related search terms Big Data on the website(NAVER) to study the social interests of the military. We identify 259 related search terms and visualize the self-centric network using the social network analysis methodology. As a result, the biggest feature is that many people consider ‘soldier’ as a profession. People’s thoughts and choices about soldiers as professions make them the fundamental direction of how to increase mental power. Professional soldiers have the characteristics of expertise, social responsibility, and corporateness. Considering these characteristics, the method for strengthening mental power can improve in two directions. First, education related to the sense of calling should continue during the training period after the appointment of executives. Second, it is necessary to develop an experiential mental power education model that can cultivate the unit’s unity. This study is significant in that it is not simply a survey but rather the most popular and reliable data used by Koreans and suggests the directions of mental power as reliable data.
