The surrealist artists in the 20th century wanted to express not rational judgement but the unconscious dream or a fantasy world. Rene Magritte ’ s worked as a representative surrealist 따tist also he established his own world and then influenced a various genres in the modern arts such as pop art ,graphic design, movies. This study has intended to analyze the archetype of the anima of female image in Rene Magritte’s paintings with its focus on the analytical psychology method. Finding out the meaning of images of his paintings, this study examined sublimated individual life which turned shock and trauma related his mother' s suicide into a creative artistíc actívítíes. Humanity has universally possessed the anima of female image, which feature is collective and a priori archetype image that appeared to all the men and then the first projection was done to its mother. The archetype is the most universal and radical a various conditions of behavioral type when human was born, they have it. The anima is personified as a psychological tendency of women in the minds of men and it' s the unconscious inner personality as a priori element that men deal with persona The anima of Characteristics is shown to negative and positive anima according to characteristics of experience of mother. Rene Magritte reproduced pain about his mother’s death on the canvas as he was aware of unconscious potential anima and then he got back to his mother he lost. While Healing the bruise because of his mother' death, he wanted to achieve inner integration. Therefore, in the art world of Magritte, his mother' s suicide was expressed to anima which is unconscious archetype symbol and negative anima acted on opposite element also it pursued unity (coniunctio oppositorum) such as the fusion of; intemal and extemal, human and animal, masculinity and femininity, the thing of human and divine and material and spiritual thing. through the negative anima, it achieved sublimation and sought out the life of artist with tendency of self-realization and creative 따ts that is step to his individuation.
