In this article, I examine the way in which religion and scientific medicine, especially physiological knowledge was combined with each other and show the cultural representation of body by physiological- religious ideas in modern American society, focusing on the thought of John Harvey Kellogg, who was one of pioneers evolved health reform movement at the time. For this purpose, first, I examine the religious and social background in which religious concepts of Kellogg were formed. Secondly, I analyse the way in which Christian beliefs and medical knowledge was combined each other on the diseases and health. Finally, I show the characteristics of body politics inscribing religious-social norms on the biological body through the purity idea of the physiological Christianity.
