The architectural education continues to focus on aspects of architectural education curriculum that result in a greaterdistance from the broader issues of human rights. The institutions representing the professional education, and in particular, theuniversities of architectural education have an obligation to address these issues. This paper suggests an alternative approachto the architecture curriculum centered on a human rights-based approach to the practice of architectural education. It is critical,both ethically and practically, for the human rights education to take a much stronger role in the fundamental issues of social. That is not a call for the complete add or change or overhaul of architecture education curriculum but rather a shift inemphasis. A human rights-based approach(HRBA) to architecture education must be just as much a part of the curriculum andpractice as are global environmental issues. There are now 30 requirements in the KAAB(Korea Architectural Accrediting Board)“Student Performance Criteria”. Understanding a rights-based approach(RBA) to architecture would be included under“27-Responsibility and Ethics of Architects”, “28-Role of Architects”, and “29-Building Code”. In addition to that, understanding ahuman rights-based approach to architecture would be included under “13, 14, 16, 25, 26 in the context of human rights”.
