Objective: In order to investigate the dentifrice with such ingredients as iso propyl methyl phenol (IPMP), bamboo salt, NaHCO3 or sodium pyro phosphate influencing to the periodontal tissue and subsiding early stage of gingivitis. Methods: One hundred twenty volunteers age 20s to 30s were participated and divided with 4 groups as supplying them different ingredient composition dentifrice with such ingredients as IPMP, bamboo salt, NaHCO3 or sodium pyro phosphate, for experimental group and no ingredient dentifrice for control group. Clinical test with double blinded test was performed for all subjects to use each dentifrice for a month and oral examination for patient hygiene performance index (PHP), gingival crevicular fluid (GCF), Snyder test, community periodontal index (CPI), and community periodontal index for treatment needs (CPITN) index were checked and compared them with each groups and periods. Results: It revealed some different between experimental groups and the control in PHP, GCF, and CPI (p＜0.05) but no different in Snyder test (p＞0.05). Conclusion: It was estimated as to use dentifrice with such ingredients as IPMP, bamboo salt, NaHCO3 or sodium pyro phosphate for long term, could get some preventive effect for periodontal disease.
