Mindfulness meditation-based dance/movement therapy for psychological wellbeing programs are characterized by the active utilization of the mindfulness meditation technique in dance/movement therapy. The principles of mindfulness meditation-based dance/movement therapy for psychological well-being are summarized as follows: first, mindfulness meditation training allows one to reveal his or her problems at the levels of body, emotion, thought, and unconsciousness and recognize them him or herself, which facilitates the dance/movement process. The psychotherapeutic process of dance/movement therapy helps with the mindfulness process, which in turn improves psychological well-being. Second, internal psychological issues revealed through mindfulness meditation can be actively resolved through dance/ movement therapy, and better solutions can be found through creative movements and dances. Third, therapeutic relationships with the therapists of dance/ movement therapy and collective group activities are effective for being mindful about the difficulties stemmed from interpersonal relationships and resolving them. Fourth, one can consistently cultivate his or her positive inner strength such as self-esteem and happiness by continuing mindfulness meditation. Finally, the attitude required from participants in the implementation process of mindfulness meditation can enhance positive relations with oneself, others, and further the world as well as the mindset toward the program. The characteristics of mindfulness meditation-based dance/movement therapy programs are as follows: first, the healing technique combines the Oriental asceticism tradition with Western psychotherapy; secondly, the programs can not only treat and heal the wounds of life, but also help to establish a positive attitude toward life through a education and training process as programs structured to increase psychological well-being. Finally, the programs propose a new type of dance meditation with movements, dances, and meditation incorporated into it.
