Indonesia, the world’s largest archipelagic country is frequently gaining attention from global investors due to its potential to emerge as a global maritime hub and thegrowing domestic consumption. The country enjoys rich coastline and is oftencharacterized by the dominance of small and medium enterprises(SMEs) in socialand economic arenas. Indonesia has evolved as one of the most lucrative investment destinations for investors in many countries, including Korea. But despite successfully wooing the investors, the country fails to reap advantages of international tradeoptimally. The inadequate logistics framework in Indonesia poses severe threats to its growth and sustainable development. The paper takes into consideration thelogisticscondition in Indonesia with special reference to small and medium enterprises(SMEs) and analyzes investmentopportunities for Korean logistics firms. The paper finds that Indonesia undoubtedly can prove to be a vastmarket for Korean firms but they do need to consider the inherent logistics loopholes in the country whichmay pose profitability related challenges.
