Compared to other areas in South Korea, Miryang has more historic sites related to the prosperity of tea culture along with a long history. The records reveal that the locals, during the Goryeo period, picked tea leaves and made and enjoyed tea, that Miryang's Jukno tea and Yellow tea (Milseong tea) were popular among Goryeo and Joseon literati, and that Miryang tea was superior to Chinese-produced tea. Underlying such tea prosperity was the fact that Miryang had produced a lot of tea since ancient times, and Joseon Nationwide Geographies and Native Geographies continued to record Miryang as a famous tea production area. Miryang was a famous tea production area in the past and has many records showing that it enjoyed tea culture, but there are few studies on the local tea culture-related historicsites of Miryang. The goal of this study is to promote local tea fans' cultural pride, to inherit and further develop the time-honored local tea culture, to help Miryang rise to the world tea culture level, and to grow its tea culture industry as a competitive local industry.
