The ripple effect of Korean culture&art over the world became to be a new engine of growth for the economy. Even though the role and performances of the artists affect people a lot, the research for protecting and promoting artists is insufficient. Therefore, in this study, we tried to understand the psychological difficulties of artists from the sight of artists through the FGI with the experts in each field of art. As a result, we secured the various baseline data about artists mental consultation and set the 163 questions for the survey. The survey was done for 2 months aiming at 828 artists and 694 non-artists through online and offline. As a result of the survey, it is reported that the income of artists is very irregular, and the artists were mentally and physically unhealthy compared to non-artists but the artists were not capable to take care the health of themselves. Accordingly, there are 21 metal consultation centers running the mental consultation program through Artists Welfare Foundation, and the positive effect as the result of the program was verified. However, this project is only a starting point to look into the psychology of artists and make them live a more stable life. Specific projects such as the establishment of an organized system and the development of a psychological program for artists should be carried out quickly to promote more active and effective projects for Korean artists. Therefore, this study suggests direction and alternative for artists to make continuous creative activities in a stable psychological environment.
