With the recent economic crisis and the accelerating restructuring of the traditional self-employment sector and increasing non-regular jobs, the possibility of unemployment and job shifts have been increasing. Therefore, self-employment policies need to be evaluated. This study focuses on the transitional labor market theory, which is actively discussed in Europe as a clue to the various social risks surrounding entry and exit into the self-employed labor market, and provides an analysis framework for self-employment policy. From the transitional labor market perspective, the study analyzes the government's countermeasures to the various social risks of self-employed workers. As a result of the study analysis, it was found that support for self-employed workers' transition to childrearing and housekeeping activities as well as transition to retirement was very insufficient. In order to supplement the limitations of these existing policies and to support the self-employed's better transitions, policy improvement from the perspective of the transitional labor market should be made, and alternatives need to be prepared accordingly.
