The purpose of this paper is to examine how reading activities conducted in listening class influence on students’ listening comprehension, perceptions, and elimination of obstacles related to listening. For this study, two experimental groups such as Reading Aloud (RA) and Jigsaw Reading (JR) and one control group such as Traditional Listening (TL) were employed, and one hundred thirty nine college students with similar TOEIC scores participated in this study. After 12 weeks of experiment, the pre-post test scores of three groups were statistically analyzed using dependent t-tests and one-way ANOVA tests. A questionnaire with 36 questions and an in-depth interview for 10 students from 3 groups were conducted. Finally, there was an in-depth interview with 10 students from different classes. As a result of study, the RA and JR activity were effective on listening comprehension compared to TL activity. Also, JR activity was found to be the most effective and enjoyable method to improve listening.
