This study aims to examine the trends of TAC system in major countries using it as an essential tool for fisheries management. The policy trend of major countries can be important data to provide priorities based on a global perspective and suggestions for establishing a new policy direction in promoting Korea's TAC policy. We intend to comprehensively review the implications derived from TAC system and policy of New Zealand, the United States, and Japan, which are representative of advanced countries in fisheries resource management. Through this, we intend to draw policy implications so that Korea's fisheries can be transformed into a sustainable TAC-based fisheries resource management system. However, major fisheries-developed countries have policies to best fit their own situations. Therefore, in order to improve the TAC system, it is necessary, above all, to accurately to best fit their own situations and challenges that Korea is facing, and to find a method suitable for the situation in Korea.
