This article focuses on the 19th century, when the tradition of Western music called Classic Music was established, and on the 21st century when Music-Composer A.I. appeared. An A.I. for automated music composition is based on the algorithm and uses Big data constructed with music patterns. A.I.’s compositional technique, which analyzes musical styles and reproduces them in a similar way, is very similar to the composing method with limited rules set forth in the 19th century classical music. In short, outputs of A.I. for automated music composition seems to restore the custom of modern classical music. This process excludes the expandability and flexibility of post-modern music that has been tried since the 1960s. This article began with the interest that classical music was the first area where composition A.I. was attempted. First, we will look at how the classical music genre was perceived as universal music in the social context of the modern age. Afterwards, we will explain the compositional patterns and creative methods of classical music, and will clarify the similarities between A.I. compositional technic and human’s classical music composition. Furthermore, we will introduce some examples of actual concerts held in Korea to understand how to use music A.I. as a new technology. In this process, we will also consider what factors determine whether artificial intelligence will remain as an automated program for learning and reproducing classical and conventional musical patterns, or whether it will be creative composer A.I.
