Cellulose is the most abundant natural polymers and is consisting of fibrillar structures. Different organic biomass including lignocellulose and algae is containing high amounts of cellulose. Nanocellulose is generally extracted from the cellulose in biomass and is classified as nano-sized or micro-sized materials and fibrillar or crystallized materials. Nanocellulose shows distinct properties like high strength, modulus, water absorption, biodegradability, etc, mostly because of its high specific surface area.
