Objective: The present study aims to examine the moderating effects of dyadic coping on the association between COVID-19-related stress and subjective well-being. Methods: Data were collected in the middle of intensive social distancing regulation (April 2020) by an online survey. The sample was 540 adults who were married and lived with an intimate partner, and their ages were 27-68. The independent variable was stress in the COVID-19 situation, and the dependent variable was subjective well-being. The moderating variables were emotion-focused dyadic coping and problem-focused dyadic coping. Two regression models (emotion-focused dyadic coping model and problem-focused dyadic coping model) were analyzed using SPSS with PROCESS MACRO, respectively. Results: Emotion-focused dyadic coping had a moderating effect on the association between stress and subjective well-being. However, problem-focused dyadic coping did not have a moderating effect but a direct positive effect on subjective well-being. Conclusions: The study implied that emotional support within couple relationships had a buffering effect on the negative influence of stress in COVID-19 situations. Also, cooperative trying within relationships to solve problems enhanced subjective well-being among married individuals.
