The purpose of this study is to identify implications for the unification of the Korean Peninsula through the Cyprus case. This article explains the process of restoring trust between hostile states. In the early stages, talks are needed to resolve hostility. These talks are conducted by the leaders or dignitaries of the Parties. Exchanges and cooperation continue when hostility is resolved. In this case, the borders are open to each other, and the residents' traffic and economic exchanges are conducted. Cyprus has continued this process for nearly 30 years. The intermediate stage is peaceful coexistence. In this process, both sides are at peace. The final stage is unification. It develops from a confederation to a federal state, if this is brought back to national integration, a completely unified state can be achieved. Cyprus maintains the current exchange and cooperation relationship with the help of the United Nations. The Secretary-General of the United Nations persuaded both sides and the international community to resolve the Cyprus issue. North and South Cypriot leaders also held direct contact and talks. Exchange and cooperation in Cyprus provides implications for the issue of unification on the Korean Peninsula.
