The purpose of this study is to explore major variables that affect group classification on the teachers’ and students’ feedback experiences. To this end, first, teachers and students were divided into low-experience groups and high-experience groups according to the level of feedback experience. After that, the random forests was used to examine major variables that influence group classification. For the analysis, subjects were high school students and teachers who participated in 2019 Daegu Longitudinal Research. In addition, students, home, teachers, school and community variables were considered. As a result, it was found that variables related to teacher instruction and evaluation play a major role in classifying groups for both students and teachers. Specifically, student-centered teaching methods and use of homework in a formative manner played a major role. In addition, in the case of students, personal characteristics related to student learning influenced group classification. In the case of teachers, teachers' affective variables, such as school and student characteristics, etc. influenced group classification. Finally, based on the results of this study, educational implications for improving the feedback experience of students and teachers are discussed.
