(Background and Purpose) With the development of media, the form of text has crossed over from traditional to hyper and has moved on from the form of language. Gone is the text that derives limited meaning from a singular completed form; it is now incomplete and has open-ended meanings. This trend flows through the area of humanities as well as science, art, and other social changes that surround humans. Therefore, this change is meaningful not only in terms of the text's character but also in the way humans encounter this world. Now, space is not composed of function and rationality but is a combination of heterogeneous and diversified elements; these are not linear spaces based on the strong centrality of the past, but nonlinear spaces free from individual choices. This research studies the nonlinear characteristics that appear in the hypertext's structure to study the architectural elements as well as possibilities that enable different experiences and free interpretation in the same space. (Method) First, the characteristics of semiotics were studied by analyzing its trend, clarifying the concepts. Second, while arranging the outline and structure of hypertext, it was confirmed that there was a strong nonlinearity based on it; this nonlinear structure has appeared throughout society and in space. Third, after selecting artists with a lot of nonlinear characteristics, their works are analyzed, organized, and used as criteria for analysis. Using these summarized characteristics based on the analysis of hypertextual components in the architectural space, SANAA was selected for solving the architectural thinking in this context, after which six representative cases were chosen based on the completed works to analyze the characteristics. (Results) As a result, it was confirmed that the three characteristics ? the condensed signifier made by nesting the programs, mixed elements and organic structure, the autonomous movement made by lost direction, circulation line and uncertain present, and the dismantling of boundaries by time connected between users, the sympathy of awareness and relationship with the outside ? combined to lead to an accidental consensus of heterogeneous and diversified factors. (Conclusions) SANAA’s work was analyzed based on the three characteristics of the condensed signifier, the autonomous movement, and the dismantling of boundaries. It was confirmed that through these factors, the centrality of space and hierarchy disappeared, leaving behind a continuous and unclear area; this makes the architect's intention ambiguous and gives more meaning to the individual user's interpretation. It loses the power of the architectural text, while the relationship of the unit text becomes equal; the latter is re-established by the user and can self-contain the possibility of pluralization.
