Report Errors
Literature field in the 1980s showed that two styles of literary style coexisted: various forms of writing including reportage or memoirs and classical literature. The main characteristics of the literature in this period were that works - that exceeded the definitions and categories of existing literature-were flooded, and various mook appeared after the massive closure of periodicals. This paper studied what topics and how the reportages contributed to the various media of the period were written, with articles from professional journalists who contributed to mook, focusing on mook expressing reportage in the title like Reposidae(reportage era), Repomunhak(reportage literature), with the recognition that the period is considered as the times of the reportage. After the military dictatorship in the 1980s, the overall political oppression of society and the deepening of the economic gap have raised awareness of the uselessness of the existing media and literature. In this situation, the reportage was an attempt to meet the needs of the times and the expectations of the readers by inheriting the literary characteristics of the two fields. It was analyzed that the characteristics of the reportage genre analyzed through the existing research are the site-oriented, in-depth coverage, and reporting of hidden truth, and the ideological goal of the reportage in the 1980s was to reveal the oppression that was exerted on the existence behind and to record the scene of social movements rather than the outward appearance of society. The reportage of the 1980s not only reflected its own characteristics, but also was sometimes like a reportage writer’s memoir where the reportage writer stays on site for coverage, and furthermore reflects the writer’s life on the life of the target people. Meanwhile, a reportage of weekly, sports and entertainment publication - that contained contents that stimulated the public’s interest and was criticized for being sensational and commercial - was also popular. However, this trend was also an exposure of the nature of the reportage genre, and at the same time, was a phenomenon that inevitably occurred in the process of moving from the 1980s to the 1990s, the era of popular culture.
