The purpose of this study was to compare environmental sensitivity between elementary school students in urban and rural areas. The subjects of this study were 313 elementary school students, including 170 students in urban areas and 143 students in rural areas in Gyeonggi-do. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; First, the environmental sensitivity of elementary school students in rural areas was significantly higher than that of elementary school students in urban areas. Second, no difference in environmental sensitivity was revealed between elementary school students in the 3rd and 4th grades in urban and rural areas, but significant differences were revealed between elementary school students in the 5th and 6th grades. Third, In the case of boy students in rural areas, environmental sensitivity was statistically significantly higher than that of boy students in urban areas, but in the case of girl students in rural areas, environmental sensitivity differences were not revealed. Fourth, there was no interaction effect between the three variables: grade group, region, and gender. Based on the fact that elementary school students in urban areas have lower environmental sensitivity than elementary school students in rural areas, it is necessary to create an environment that can enhance the environmental sensitivity of elementary school students in urban areas.
