Growth-related endocrine substances such as growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor (IGF), which have different effects on the development of the digestive organs, are expressed and developed differently depending on nutritional status. Among the nutritional composition, protein plays a vital role in the growth and development of fish, and most of the typical protein sources come from a fishmeal (about 35% to 60%). Since many issues emerge, such as the supply of fishmeal is unstable, the fishmeal price fluctuates sharply, or there are many restrictions on using a fishmeal, a considerable amount of research is underway to test the replacement of the protein sources in fishmeal. Therefore, in this study, an evaluation of the endocrine activity P. olivaceus was performed to examine the effects of various kinds of low-fishmeal feed on the digestive and absorptive capacity.
