Background/Aims
Cytoreductive surgery (CRS) with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) for peritoneal surface malignancies (PSM) has not been accepted worldwide due to the associated significant morbidity. It is possible to reduce or prevent the early postoperative morbidity, if the clinician has the knowledge about the factors contributing to it. This study was done to analyse such factors that predict morbidity in Indian set up.

Methods
Patients with PSM were included between February 2013 and Dec 2017 and underwent optimal CRS with HIPEC as per the institutional protocol. The preoperative and intraoperative data were collected. The outcome in terms of postoperative morbidity i.e, 30days (as per Clavien-Dindo classifications and CTCAE v4.0) was analysed

Results
Total 163 patients underwent the procedure. 67% cases were of ovarian primary and rest was from colorectal, appendix, stomach, mesothelioma and rarer malignancies. Mean age was 54 years (± 9.13), majority being females (78.5%). 88.3% were of good performance status (ECOG 0). Mean duration of surgery was 9.5hours, blood loss 1250ml and PCI 14.
