The purpose of the present study is to explore the perception of fictivity in the observation of objects through an examination of the ‘huruta’ class verbs in Korean. The analysis focuses on fictivity as a manifestation of human imagination based on actuality, especially the cases of fictivity expanded from the perception of movement. This fictivity is related to the fictivization of the non-moving objects as moving things. The results of this study are as follows. First, it is the perception of fictivity within the flow of water. This is the recognition of a non-moving object as a movement in a situation where water is flowing. The verbs are recognized as a horizontal direction along with the water. Second, the verbs are expressed with senses of sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste, and appear as a horizontal movement. Third, the verbs are examined as moving horizontally through the context, without suggesting a specific path like the horizontal property of water. Fourth, the verbs appear with the perception of the movement in the vertical direction from top to bottom through the context in the situation where the conceptualizer is stationary. As a result, the ‘huruta’ class verbs are related to the figure-ground reversal phenomenon according to the conceptualizer’s selective attention, and its meaning construction is examined by presenting diagram and conceptual integration network.
