Flavor additives have been contained in the capsules in filter of capsule cigarettes. These flavor additives are inhaled by the consumer when they bite the filters to break the capsules. The WHO proposed a prohibition on the addition of flavor agents in tobacco products through the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). However in Korea, regulations on flavor additives in tobacco products are inadequate. In addition, it is necessary to investigate the flavor additives of capsules in Heat-not-burn tobacco products (HTP). Therefore, this study compared the analyzed flavor additives in the capsules of Heat-not-burn tobacco products and capsule cigarettes on the market in Korea.
