The development of greasiness in apple skin during storage at room temperature has adverse effects on fruit quality. This disorder is more common in ‘Hongro’ than in ‘Fuji’ cultivar. In this study, ‘Fuji’ and ‘Hongro’ were used to confirm the quality change and respiration patterns during room storage temperature. Besides the greasiness pattern of ‘Hongro’ skin treated with various conditions (1 µL/L 1-MCP, 30 µm PE film, 30 µm PP film) at low temperature (0°C) and room temperature (20°C) was investigated. During storage at room temperature, there was no significant difference in the weight loss rate of ‘Fuji’ and ‘Hongro’, but the ‘Hongro’ cultivar was maintained a higher respiration rate and ethylene production than that of ‘Fuji’.
