Report Errors
The most of middle and old-aged people in Korea exit from the labor market as they reach the retirement age, or due to personal issues such as old age and health problems. This study analyzed the retirement of workers aged more than 55 years using the Korean Longitudinal Stud of Aging (KLoSA). The decision tree was first used to analyze the retirement within 2 years and then kaplan-meier was used to analyze the retirement timing within 12 years. As a result, the aging and the characteristics of employment were identified as important factors determining the retirement within 2 years, and the stability of employment and the professionalism were identified as important factors determining the retirement timing within 12 years. We expect our study would be helpful to establish stable plans and policies for the retirement.
