Background and Purpose: Immunoglobulin A (IgA) is an antibody class that plays a crucial role in the immune function of mucosal surfaces and shapes gut microbiota composition and function. We have recently reported that carbohydrate response element-binding protein (ChREBP) deficiency leads to diarrhea-dominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D) mainly due to decreased fructose absorption. In this study, we investigated whether the disturbance of gut immune response and microbiome involve in fructose-induced IBS-D using Chrebp KO mice.
Methods: Wild type (WT) and Chrebp KO mice were fed a control diet or a high-fructose diet (HFrD) for three days.
