Recently, there has been increasing attention about SNS(Social Network Service) and shared mental model as measures of competitiveness for team and their impacts on job performance.
This research scrutinizes impacts of SNS on team shared mental and learning performance in university students and this study tries to explain whether degrees of team shared mental mediates the relationship between SNS engagement and learning performance.
To achieve the goals, this study developed conceptual measurements of SNS engagement, team shared mental and learning performances based on previous researches. This study proposed hypotheses and conducted surveys with 209 sets of questionnaire from university students.
The results are as follows. First, SNS engagement had affected learning performances. It has been proved that SNS engagement has positive impacts on learning performances.
Secondly, the test proved that SNS engagement influences team shared mental. Among them, SNS engagement has the strongest influence on the team-work shared mental and also it has the strongest influence on the task-related shared mental indicator.
Third, the hypothesis that team shared mental mediates between SNS engagement and learning performance is fully accepted.
Results suggested that when university students make efforts to develop their SNS engagement they become more committed to team shared mental and also more likely to develop their learning orientation.
