The study analyzed the effects of the organizational culture of Athletic perceived by university student athletes on democratic civility. A sample of 350 university student athletes was selected to achieve the aim of this study, from which 337 survey responses were utilized as final analysis data. The statistics package program SPSS Window 22.0 was used to execute statistical analysis of the data. The organizational culture of athletic team of university student athletes was set as the independent variable and democratic civility was set as the dependent variable, on which a multiple regression analysis was carried out.
Analysis results revealed that firstly, the organizational culture of athletic team of university student athletes had a partially positive effect on the ‘creativity’, ‘development’, and ‘rationality’ of democratic attitude. Secondly, it had a positive effect on the ‘uniformity’, ‘development’, and ‘rationality’ of democratic participation and a negative effect on its ‘hierarchy’. Thirdly, it had a partially positive effect on the ‘uniformity’ and ‘rationality’ of democratic knowledge. Fourthly, it had a partially positive effect on the ‘creativity’, ‘development’ and ‘rationality’ of democratic functions. Thus, the hypothesis of this study was partially adopted and most existing study results support this study. However, the unique details of the study results have implications for future improvements in the organizational culture of athletic team of university student athletes.
