The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of the empowering leadership on job embeddedness and service-oriented organizational citizenship behavior. It also examines the mediation effect of job embeddedness on the relationship between the empowering leadership and service-oriented organizational citizenship behavior. A questionnaire survey was conducted to empirically examine the interrelationship posited in this study. A total of 399 valid questionnaires were used for the analysis. The results are as follows. First, empowering leadership positively affects job embeddedness of cabin crews. Second, empowering leadership also positively affects service-oriented organizational citizenship behavior of cabin crew. Third, it is also found that the job embeddedness mediates the relationship between the empowering leadership and service-oriented organizational citizenship behavior of cabin crew. The results suggest that the job embeddedness acts as a linking pin of the relationship between the empowering leadership and service-oriented organizational citizenship behavior.
