The purpose of this study is to provide meaningful data to prospective leaders who will grow as leaders in the future by in-depth understanding and deriving meanings of the process of Olympic medalists’ growth as leaders after retirement. After retirement as a player, turning into a leader seemed to have the same meaning as living life over time. There is no doubt that the achievements and valuable results experienced while playing as a player played a role in promoting growth as a leader. However, they found that it was somewhat difficult to fully understand the current players and lead the team. The difficulties involved various types of problems, but the biggest area among them was communication with players and the formation of interests. In addition, it has been mentioned that leaders should not only manage and coach athletes, but also handle and perform various other tasks. In this regard, the opinion that the expert’s hand is needed in the psychological and physiological aspects of the athletes was expressed, and various sports sciences were combined rather than the previous training system, which was mainly based on the compulsive physical and physical training that had been done in the past. It turns out that they are trying to establish a form of training system.
Such efforts and investment in time can lead to a leader’s understanding of the athlete and the similarity between the athlete and the leader. It is important to prevent negative emotions. This research attempt is a useful data and a meaningful attempt for athletes who are in vague troubles after retiring from their career as an athlete in the future.
