The Korean government has been supporting the participatory community development project for 2 villages(Thanatpin, East phaunggyi) in Myanmar during 2012~2019. These two villages share the cultural traditions, but differ in population size, area, and economic structure, and the results of the rural development project also appeared somewhat different. Research problems are as followed. How do the structural characteristics of the relational network of 2 pilot villages appear? Who are the key players in the implementing process of each pilot rural village project?
The analysis results are summarized as follows. First, The overall size of a network of Thanatpin is smaller than that of East phaunggyi, but the mean distance is small and the inclusiveness is higher. A lot of isolated Nodes and high network homogeneity is identified in the East phaunggyi village network, showing a strong tendency to be connected to each other. Second, From the power structure point of view, Saemaul leader was identified as the most influential node in overall networks of Thanatpin. But, the most influential node in East phaunggyi is the village leader. And the head of cooperative university, Thanlyin and coordinator also appear as an important node only in Thanatpin.
