The research aimed to analyze the rate at which people practise physical activities depending on their health behaviors over the life cycle based on the 7th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(2016-2018). The result was as follows: First, non-smoking, non-drinking, and normal-weight in adult females showed a high participation rate, while in terms of seniors, female were higher rates of non-smokers and non-drinkers, but normal body weight was higher rate in male. Second, non-smoking in adult males showed higher engagement as walking, aerobic exercise, and weight training(those who regularly have breakfast also appeared to be doing more weight training), while those that do health risk behavior as drinking were more engaged in aerobic exercise. For adult females, those who have regular breakfast in walking and normal body weight in aerobic exercise were shown to be more engaged and respectively, while high participation rate in weight training applied to both. Meanwhile, alcohol drinkers were higher rate to do walking, aerobic exercise, and weight training. For senior males, those with normal body weight were doing more aerobic exercise, while non-smokers and those with a sufficient amount of sleep did more weight training. Alcohol drinkers were higher rate to be doing weight training. For senior females, those with normal body weight were highly engaged in walking and aerobic exercise, while drinkers tended to spend more time in weight training. Third, adult males were most engaged in aerobic exercise when carrying out two health behaviors, while the participation rate in weight training rose when the number increased to three and dropped when more than that. For adult females, their engagement in weight training increased together with the number of health behaviors. Meanwhile, seniors did not show a statistically significant difference.
In conclusion, females were shown to be more engaged in health behaviors than males, and such engagement was in fact influential in rising how much people carry out physical activities; the increased number of health behaviors improved people’s participation rate in physical activities.
