In light of the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation in 2017, the Korean academic circle and churches held various events. The academic circle particularly focused in on the Protestant Reformation in all of its scholastic meetings, symposiums, seminars, and lectures. The meaning of the Reformation and its religious heritage were re-examined. A plan for reform and renewal of the church was sought. However, the synthesis and evaluation of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation have not yet come out. In 2017, a total of 87 books on Luther and Reformation were published. The purpose of this study is to find a new perspective on Luther and the Reformation, and to evaluate the quality level of domestic Luther and the Reformation research.
