This study is aimed at analyzing the effects of play-oriented child and youth golf program based on the ARCS model. Among the subjects are golf students who are aged between 6 and 11 years old. The 40 experimental group and 40 comparison groups consist of a total of 80 boys and girls, excluding those with physical conditions who cannot play golf. The results of this study are as follows. Analysis of the difference in golf performance according to the sub-factor of ARCS between groups showed that ARCS sub-components, Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction among the experimental groups, all of which were ARCS sub-factories, showed the highest on average among the higher level group with a play-oriented child and youth golf program based on the ARCS model, the higher the motivation for learning, both in the higher and lower levels of the experimental group, the more different the accuracy of putting, which is a sub-factor of golf performance.
For shot accuracy, as with putting accuracy, the experimental group has the highest average score in all categories, the lower level of the comparison group was the lowest, statistical significant differences occurred at the level of p<.001 between the two groups.
In conclusion, the golf program for play-oriented child and youth based on the ARCS model may provide an opportunity to introduce systematic education methods, the program developed in this study is believed to be the cornerstone of the golf program for child and youth.
