This study examines the Jukchoui (red-bordered robe) and Jukchosang (skirt-like panels worn underneath Jukchoui) from the late 19th century archived at Wonkwang University Museum focusing on the order and techniques of sewing used to make them to arrive at a better understanding of the sewing methods in late Chosun period and of Poh (Robe), one of the most symbolic outfits in Eastern Asia. Since there is no document on the items in Wonkwang collection, I reproduced and studied them based on the 19th-century sample. I then looked into the robe system in Chosun period, the background and characteristics of the items in Wonkwang collection, and got an accurate measurement of each part of the items to draw a diagram and decide the order and methods of sewing and the amount of fabric used to create them.(중략)
