Mo Yan can be considered as the most translated, researched and influential contemporary Chinese writer as the first one to win the Nobel Prize for literature. His works have been translated into more than 40 languages around the world, causing a storm in the world literature circle. With dissemination of his translation and introduction, the Chinese culture reflected by his works has attracted more and more attention. The publishing of translated version has become an indispensible perspective for readers to understand Mo Yan and his work. Park Myeong-ae, a famous South Korean translator, contributed a lot to her successful translation on Mo Yan’s works, so that his novels can enjoy a high reputation in South Korea. Park Myeong-ae has translated 7 novels of Mo Yan and made an indelible contribution to the dissemination of his works in South Korea. She got a relatively ideal effect in the process of disseminating Mo Yan’s novels and Chinese culture by upholding a strong sense of responsibility and serious attitude, using a solid language foundation and extensive cultural knowledge, and adopting flexible and various translation methods or skills. However, by investigation on her Korean versions, we found her translation is not perfect restricted by many factors, so there are some improper and even mistranslation in her Korean versions. The paper takes the improper and mistranslation in Korean version of Big Breasts and Wide Hips as example to research the primary cause of these errors, and hopes to provide reference for Chinese literature internationalization, as well as helps South Korean readers to understand Chinese culture correctly, so as to enhance cultural understanding and friendship between South Korea and China by cultural exchanges.
