We have looked at the features, constructions and its limitations of The Notitia Linguae Sinicae in this paper. Not only did this grammar book serve as a bridge in the middle of the 17th century and the 19th century, but it also served as a prototype of the Chinese grammar book. Premare divided Chinese into spoken and written language parts for the first time, and discussed each grammatical phenomena, as well as symmetry and asymmetry of them. In order to learn Chinese, he emphasized on basic examples rather than the rules, and the examples he presented were actually meaningful. From these examples we can see that there is a clear difference between Ba-construction and Yi-construction, although there is a strong relation between two constructions. ∅Bei-contruction is also an interesting constructions that we mentioned the possibility that this was possible influenced by two examples. Since there was no grammar book about written Chinese grammar before Premare, The Notitia Linguae Sinicae is also the first written Chinese grammar book. This grammar, which is the prototype of Chinese grammar, needs to be studied in depth, so that we can better understand Chinese grammar.
