Wang Shizhen(王士禛) is a scholar, writer and politician of the early Qing dynasty. He was an influential figure in his time and later, and Chibeioutan(池北偶談) is the ‘biji(筆記)’ of him. This book is very valuable because it contains various contents such as literature, history, institutions, and characters of the early Qing dynasty. We will ultimately translate the full volume of the Chibeioutan into Korean with detailed annotations on the basis of the 1982 edition published by Zhonghua Book Company. This paper is the fourth work of the project, which contains translation and annotation of 5 articles(from No. 38 to 42) contained in “Tangu(談故) 1”. Five articles in this paper could examine the changing control. The Qing Dynasty accepted the government system of the Ming Dynasty in the early days, but gradually began to modify it to suit a real situation of the Qing Dynasty. Since then the Qing Dynasty have gone through various modifications and supplements to establish a stable system. This paper also provided information about officials who were briefly recorded or unrecorded in the affairs. It will help to comprehensively construct the life data of the bureaucrats scattered by comparing and analyzing it with other data.
