The purpose of this study is to analyze research trends related to urban regeneration as a means of tourism and to present future tasks and research directions. In order to achieve the purpose of the research, a literature review was conducted on the concepts and methods of urban regeneration, tourism, and content analysis was conducted on the basis of the theoretical foundation. The content analysis covered 35 articles from 20 journals. In addition, content analysis was conducted by setting the publication time, research subject, research design (research method, research site, data collection method, research target) and author major as an analysis category. Based on the results of the content analysis, future tasks and research directions were discussed. First, the necessity of increasing interest in urban regeneration was presented. Next, the necessity to diversify the research subjects concentrated in the field of tourism development was presented, and third, the necessity of comprehensive research on the national survey targets was presented. Finally, the method of data collection and the expansion of the survey target were discussed. This study was an early study analyzing urban regeneration research trends in terms of tourism, and it is meaningful that it presented the future direction and research tasks of urban regeneration research as a means of tourism.
